Study music at Novia

Novia University of Applied Sciences’ education in music is the only music education in Swedish in Finland that provides a degree at a polytechnic level. The education comprises 240 study credits and normally takes 4 years. After completing your education, you graduate as a musician (YH) or music teacher (YH).

The studies prepare and give you excellent skills to work as a musician and music educator in the music industry today. The studies emphasize on the musical craft. Through teaching in your major subject as well as various forms of ensemble playing, music writing subjects and industry knowledge, you are always supported in developing your musical identity and profile. A large part of the teaching is project-based in the form of workshops and master courses as well as various forms of concert activities. For the music educators, 60 study credits are included in pedagogy, which are carried out in collaboration with Åbo Akademi University.
